Yesterday was the "annual" triathlon for our stake. I say it in quotes because it has happened twice and I'm not so presumptuous to assume my friend Dennese will do it again. Anyhow, I went out to watch and help out as I could not participate this year. The numbers were doubled to 40 and these women were amazing. There were lots of great stories and a wide range of abilities and ages. It made me a little misty eyed to watch all these women diving into the water to start the challenge. It was way fun to help my dear friend in a small fraction as she put it on. I was sad not to participate, but cheering everyone on was way fun.
On a very unrelated note, I thought I would write include some of the fun things the kids said this week
Emma was gone with Grandma and Grandpa for 4 days to Oregon. I was totally sad to be away from her and I told her how much I would miss her. She said "its okay mom I'll call and I'll pray for you" on one such phone calls she wanted to talk to the boys and it was fun to hear them say so how is your trip? she then wanted to talk to baby Mia. In this high pitched voice she said Hello baby Mia, how are you doing? I hope you are doing well. It was very sweet.
Zach has learned how to kneeboard and it is his new love. We have friends that are so good to us and take us out on their boat from time to time and they started knee boarding. After getting up, and doing it all by himself, he said he pretty much likes kneeboarding more than anything else. I asked more than tubing or what, he said in a very serious voice (can you imagine from Zach) more than watching movies or riding bikes or playing or video games. He then asked randomly a couple days later if he could have a kneeboard for Christmas. I don't know what he would do with it in the winter and no boat. I asked him this week what he wanted to be when he grows up, it used to be a cowboy, but now he either wants to be a police man or someone that works in a store.
Marshall says all the time hu thats crazy. Like he is the judge of all that is sane. You'll have to endure this next part but this is very Marshall and I have to preserve it for posterity. He was in the bathroom doing his business and I was in the kitchen making dinner. I turned around and all I saw was Marshall's bum sticking in the air with his pants around his ankles with him spreading his cheeks and screamed hey mom did I wipe very good? I hope my laughing doesn't encourage more such episodes. He tends to thrive on laughter.
