Nature center in Austin another free spot

Texas rain storm complete with lightning and flash floods.

Swim lessons at Deep Eddy pool. It is a spring fed pool. BRRRRR cold.

We were in Austin so long we decided to sign the kids up for swim lessons. It was at Deep Eddy pool. Which is a spring fed swimming pool. It sure was cold. The kids were all in the same class together. The learned all the strokes. It was really fun. Im glad we did it.

The kids and I went to Johnson city and went to the Lyndon B Johnson National Park. We learned all about Lady Bird Johnson and her naturalist influence on the nation. We went to his Childhood home and visited their ranch 30 minutes away.

It was pretty hi tech for the time

I love these historic old town hall buildings. We saw plenty of them for me!

Eating out every day was no chore here! We travelled out to Lockhart for some real good BBQ we chose Kruez market. There are lots to choose from but we could only do one.

Read the sign to catch the drift of the place. I kept thinking it is a place my dad would love.

This is the BBQ pit. In this 200 degree room you order your meat. It only comes in half pound increments and they wrap it up in a brown piece of wax paper. No sauce, like they say. It was so good. Then you enter into the market where you order sides and eat at picnic tables. No silverware! The Macaroni and cheese is the best I've ever had I had to find spoons for that!

Enchanted rock

This is a state park outside of Austin It is a massive rock hill that looks very out of place. It is a great place to catch a sunset. We didn't know how Mia would do, but she did great. She just wanted to keep up with the big kids. I was a little nervous about the rattlesnake warning. I never saw one, Ryan ended up running over one on the way home. I missed it.
