Ryan had to go out of town for three days leaving me with 4 munchkins on my own. For some reason Mia really had an upset tummy, screaming for most of the first day. The second day was pretty similar and then in the middle of the night she came down with the congestion issues her siblings have been carrying around for 2 weeks. She became so congested and stuffed up that she couldn't clear it from her lungs or her nose and was gasping for air. I quickly got her up and was trying help her breath and nothing was working, she started turning red, then blue, I panicked and called 911 by the time I explained the situation she cleared it and was okay. The fire department showed up in full force and she was totally fine and was coo-ing and giggle for the cute firefighters (the flirt) I was so thankful they were so nice. I had called Darrell to come over in my panic and he was very quick to get here to help. She had a couple more episodes during the night, but not nearly as bad as the first. I took her into the doctor and luckily she doesn't have RSV but I just have to wait for it to take it's course. She is doing much better and she is able to manage her congestion now.
The next night Marshall was swinging on the furniture in the same way Emma was when she split her chin on the floor. (did I post about her glued chin?) Anyway he landed on his head I think he left a dent in the wood floor. He had quite the goose egg, then it got scary. He was out of it, he got really sleepy and when I tried to wake him up he was a little loopy. He got up and imediately threw up all over everything. I thought he had a concusion for sure. So I called our career- firefighter-and-general-know-what-to-do-in-emergency friend and gave me some pointers. He said call 911 if he is acting out of the normal for him. I once again called my handy neighbor (my father in law) to come over. Luckily he convinced Marshall to teach him how to play the wii. Marshall was teaching him all kinds of things. We monitered him for a couple hours and woke him up several times to check on him. He seemed to be okay so we took a deep breath. THe other kids didn't think it was fair for him to stay up playing video games. Life just isn't fair is it?
Emma said I just miss our dad.
He came home and it was like we all took a big sigh like ahh yes everything is okay now. He has such a fun attitude about him and brings so much peace and joy to our home. It was a very stark contrast from when he was gone to when he came home. I definately have a respect for single parents and those that are separated due to military service or whatever. It is so nice to be able to bounce ideas off each other and get another's point of view.....
SOOOO glad dad is back.
