Introducing the grand champion

at least for the 3:30 Friday afternoon session of mutton bustin. This high achievement marks the end of Zachary's Mutton Bustin' career. He was in for a good ride and the anticipation was great. Zachary has been talking about this for, well a year since last time he won 2nd place. He was able to show off his greatness to grandma and grandpa who were in attendance. He told me afterward he just thought he knew he was going to win. So apparently visualization helped him in his big win. He kept telling us his strategy. In the most serious voice he would just say "all I really had to do is squeeze my legs around it's tummy and hold on to the neck." The grand prize was a belt buckle and no one could pry it from his little hands for the rest of the evening. He went the full 6 seconds and got a score of 85 points whatever that means. The second place winner was a little girl, who apparently wasn't prepared, she was wearing a dress and her white underwear was showing all the way to the arena. A great time was had by all.

A great discovery at the fair this year.
I love the puyallup fair elephant ears. We always hit it at least once. This year I noticed its made out of wheat dough. That means its healthy so we got two.

Many times throughout the evening we would stop and sit on those foot massagers they have. It is the best deal at the fair. For just a quarter this machine takes away all the foot fatige you have created. I kept getting strange looks by passers-by when they saw a very pregnant woman with three small children crowded on one machine. This time I was crowding in on Ryan's moment of rest.

The kids had a great time. The trip to the Puyallup fair is always a fall favorite of ours. This year we decided to leave out all the hobby displays and four buildings of salesbooths that are practically the same vendors over and over. I think that really helped the morale of the troops. Our favorites were the barns, piglets, and seeing the 4H girls riding their horses, a dog judication, and a chicken one too. We also caught a show of a police K-9 unit. The kids were lucky and a lady in the parking lot gave us a stack of tickets for rides, so the kids were able to do a bunch of rides for free. We really outdid ourselves eating way too much and we loved it all.
