My question for you

Sorry this is a long post.... the question is at the way bottom if you want to skip to it.

I've been working on my personal progress and it has been an awesome opportunity for me. (Personal Progress is a church program to help young women develop character and a relationship with Heavenly Father. The leaders can participate too) There have been so many chances for me to see things differently. Also there is a new Value...Virtue, which is awesome, it is a value that is lost, but these girls will be a light to the world.

Right now Im working on Divine Nature and here is what I've read recently that has pertinence to today.

President Faust observed that femininity “is the divine adornment of humanity. It finds expression in your … capacity to love, your spirituality, delicacy, radiance, sensitivity, creativity, charm, graciousness, gentleness, dignity, and quiet strength. It is manifest differently in each girl or woman, but each … possesses it. Femininity is part of your inner beauty.”

This has been a favorite of mine for a while and I stumbled on it again.

Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity.

All these relate to our Divine Nature and how that can help us as moms.
My question for you is what important attributes does a woman need to be a good mother? Dont be shy I want to know what is important to you.

So this is one I always seem to be working on but I think patience is one of those most important things a mother can have along with a good sense of humor. To be able to see the good in all things! OK so that is more than one thing.

That can be a tough question because there are so many qualities important to motherhood, and we all have strengths and weaknesses in varying degrees of those qualities. Two things that come to my mind are the qualities of observation, and discernment. Observation so that we can be aware of the needs, emotions, and mental status of each child. Discernment so we can use those observations and apply the appropriate responses. Such as, deciding if a child's actions calls for a stern discipline, or a gently explanation and hug. Or knowing whether to help them with a task, or give them the opportunity to learn it themselves by trial and error. Both these qualities are only made more powerful when we have the companionship of the Holy Ghost to guide us. Which I guess would make three qualities, the third one being the ability to hear, recognize, and act upon inspirations from the Holy Ghost.
