MLK Jr. Breakfast

Emma really wanted to do breakfast on our special day to remember Martin Luther King Jr. She made all the preparations for a fabulous celebration. Notice all the food we had for breakfast, leftover spagetti, ice cream, pears, popcorn, sparkling cider, graham crackers, and fixins for hot cocoa. She led the discussion on how great a man Martin Luther King Jr. was, and how he wanted everyone to be equal. Emma definately worked hard on the decorations she made, and she was sure to wish everyone she saw and talked to on the phone a happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I am grateful for people who see a need for change in the world and stand up even when it's hard, and equally amazed at how sensitive and in tune children are.

Emma is so sweet! I love her breakfast 'spread'! Kids really do know what's going on, don't they?
