So my friend Brandi has been getting me exited about emergency preparedness, and things like that and have been making a concerted effort to getting things organized and ready. Here is a list of things that would go good in an emergency kit or things to have handy. I would love to hear feedback on what you include in your kits or ideas that are good anything Preparedness related. As for general food storage the Church has encouraged us to get three month supply of food of things we regularly eat. This is inspired because it is achievable! Plus, it never goes wasted. My dear friend Susan Messagee is very inspired for many, many reasons, and the fact that she has chocolate in her food storage is very insightful. I never thought of that until she mentioned it. It may offer some sort of comfort to us if we are ever in need of using our three month store. We have no reason to fear if we are prepared!

I am always getting excited about food storage and then falling short. For our 72 hour kits we mostly got together when we were going camping all the time. They are in two big boxes that are ready at all times to load in the car and go. Are problem would be walking out (but on the Island there is really no where to walk for safety). The best thing I have found for food storage. Is that I made a calender of what we eat during a 2 week period doubled it for a month then tripled it. It helped me know what we were really eating. Then I through in things like cake mixes, chocolate, etc. for special occasions and becuase I really don't do well without my chocolate supply. Hope my idea helps. I am still working on it. Sorry this was so long.
The only thing I didn't see on your list was cash.
Thanks for the list! We are feeling the need to update too.
WIPES! They are great for other things besides diaper duty, also!
We also keep some hard candy, granola bars, fruit leather and jerky
