We had a great time at the fair this year. We hit dollar ride day and we didn't spend too much time in the expo centers, what I think of as the wall street of salesmen. We had a great time in the barns as usual. The highlight was by far the Mutton Bustin'. Zach had gone to the rodeo with Papa the weekend of the triathlon and saw kids riding on the backs of sheep. Being the true blue cowboy that he is got it in his head that he could do it just as good as them other kids. When we made it back for the fair, he was going to do it. We signed him up and Marshall not knowing what he was talking about said he wanted to do it too. (typical younger brother) We came back at the appropriate time and got them all fixed up in helmets and padding. I was watching from the stands and about had a heart attack when I saw these 4 year olds coming out of the chute on these beasts. They would hold on for half a second and slip off only to be trampled under sheep, screaming, wailing, knashing of teeth. I'm repeating in my head what did I do to my little boys. Meanwhile in line for the action.....
Ryan is telling my boys okay hold on no matter what. My little literal Zachary is making mental note of all instructions. Marshall looks horrified at all the inconsolable children screaming bloody murder. Here came Zachary. He is hunched down in a confident position and made it clear down to the end of the arena. The crowd went crazy, finally some one made it longer than half a second. His time was almost 6 seconds. As the crowd is cheering for him, the announcer says and here's his brother Marshall. He went for 4 seconds making it halfway down the arena. He hit it pretty hard, but strutted all the way back to day saying, " I didn't even cry dad." That 3 year old is one tough little booger.
Here are the 2nd and 4th place winners. Video to come as soon as I can figure it out.

That is so cool Sarah! I don't know how you did it. I would have freaked out, especially with Marsh. I wonder if Zack will remember doing this down the road and how the whole crowd cheered for him.
That is so awesome! I am totally amazed and laughing. It has totally made my day. Good job not freaking out. Boys will be boys I guess. At least that is what I am always trying to tell myself!
